The Bishop’s Council and Diocesan Board of Finance (Executive) have agreed to the creation of a Nominations Committee and an Audit and Risk Assurance Committee. These were recommended by Mary Chapman (a former member of the Archbishops’ Council) in her review of the governance of the diocese commissioned by the Bishop of Norwich.

The Bishop of Norwich is looking to make the following two appointments:

  • One person, not currently involved in the governance of the diocese, to be a member of the Nominations Committee for an initial three year term. This person needs to have access to a wide network of people across the diocese, experience of governance in other organisations, a track record in enhancing diversity, and knowledge of succession planning.
  • One person, not currently involved in the governance of the diocese, to be a member of the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee for an initial three year term. This person needs to have wide experience of internal and external audit, and/or the management of risk, and experience of governance in other organisations.

Further details about both volunteer posts are available from Karen Hall karen.hall@dioceseofnorwich.org

Expressions of interest, including a CV, should be sent to the Bishop of Norwich, bishop@dioceseofnorwich.org by Friday 18 December.

The Bishop is particularly keen to enhance the diversity of members on our boards and committees, and in particular is keen to hear from women, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people, and those living with disabilities.

Thank you for considering this, or thinking about others who might have these skills.
