DESCRIPTION:We are planning to have fun\, enjoy some cake and a drink\, and hopefully learn a thing or two. \nSt Marks\, Oulton Broad (silver award Eco Church) – are holding a Green Day on Saturday 1 June (10 – 2). Local people and groups from further afield will be highlighting their Green initiatives; from running a hedgehog haven\, nurturing honey bees to raising the issue of coastal flooding. Our local MP\, prospective candidates\, councillors and environmental groups (such as the Christian Climate UK and Use Your Voice Lowestoft) will be in attendance. \nSome issues have very serious implications – but nature’s ability to recover is amazing too. We need to have hope. Indeed there is much joy in recognising and encouraging a healthier environment for us all (nature and mankind alike). Join us to share the journey.

SUMMARY:Flower festival - A musical bouquet
DESCRIPTION:Make a visit to St Mary’s Church in Attleborough on the weekend of 1 and 2 June and you will be assured of a feast for the senses. \nThere will be a Flower Festival – ‘A Musical Bouquet’ – in the church on both days. Admission is free and there will be a collection to support the Attleborough Music Project (AMP)\, an inspiring venture that aims to create a centre of excellence for music in the region. \nEach of the flower arrangements displayed inside the church\, will be focussed around music – with inspiration from sources as wide as Bob Marley\, Louis Armstrong\, Andrew Lloyd Webber\, Puccini\, The Beatles and Rimsky-Korsakov. \nThe monthly Artisan Market will be the churchyard in the morning on the Saturday. There will also be the opportunity to bring those items whose value you have often wondered about to an Auction Valuation Day from 10am until 3pm inside the church. At 7.30pm there will be a concert by Norwich Baroque\, with soprano Sarahjane Stephen\, entitled ‘Li Fiori: musical flower gardens of the 17th century’. This will include music by Purcell\, Kapsberger\, Schenk\, and others\, with tickets (priced at £15\, under 18s go free) available on the door or online from the church website. \nOn the Sunday\, following the 10am Parish Eucharist\, there will be another opportunity to view the flower arrangements from 12 noon. Cream teas will be served from 1-4pm and this ‘musical bouquet’ of a weekend will be brought to a fitting end with a celebration service at 5pm.

SUMMARY:Sing Together\, Grow Together - workshops for new fathers
DESCRIPTION:Singing is a brilliant activity for you to do with your child. It makes you happy\, healthy\, teaches communication skills\, coordination skills and supports brain development. \nThe Sing Together\, Grow Together project will provide music sessions for fathers of children of two and under to give them ideas and examples of music to sing with their child throughout the day. The sessions will be in a friendly\, easy going environment and includes a snack break as part of the session and a family music session for everyone attending to enjoy some music with fantastic musicians. Feedback will be gathered from attendees about their favourite songs after each session and this will be put together into a co-created family songbook which will be freely distributed to attendees after the sessions have been completed. \nThe sessions will be held at St George Church Colgate church in central Norwich on a Saturday morning and will be free to attend. DESCRIPTION:On Monday 13th May is Let’s Give Hug Day when we surround the church with over 50 patchwork tops\, giving the church its much needed hug! We will gather at 10.30 am ready for the hug at 11.00 am. \nThe event is the culmination of months of work by quilt and block makers from all over the UK. Prior to Monday 13th May an exhibition will be held in the church from Friday 10th to 12th Sunday May. \nThe exhibition will display over 50 highly colourful patchwork quilt tops made by people from all over the U.K. The exhibition is free. Any donations will help the Friends of St Andrew’s Church Little Massingham raise funds for the church roof as several years ago thieves stole the lead from it. \nLater in the year Quilts 4 Care Leavers will add the backing\, wadding and topstitching to the quilts. The completed quits called Hugs will then be given to young care leavers who leave the care system every year.

Doors open 6.30pm in the church hall.
