It is presented by Chris Packham CBE\, features Deborah Meaden and Jennifer Saunders and combines a summary of the major areas of knowledge\, with personal responses from people like you. \nThe 50-minute film will be followed by facilitated small-group discussion and sharing. Wymondham Abbey is a Silver award EcoChurch and this is being shown as part of our work towards becoming a Gold Award church. \nThe Church of England has a clear role in caring for God’s creation and taking prophetic action. With a Christian presence in every community in England\, I strongly encourage our churches\, chaplaincies and schools to host screenings of this timely and important film. \n— The Rt Revd Graham Usher\, Bishop of Norwich \nTickets are free. No need to book. DESCRIPTION:Join King’s Lynn Night Shelter for their fundraising event to launch their new season at the Night Shelter: every penny raised supports their reopening this autumn! \n8:30pm onwards:  Arrivals \n9pm: Night prayers with the Bishop of Lynn (feel free to join us or just listen) \nFollowed by refreshments \nOvernight: Sleep in the churchyard: you will need to bring your own sleeping bag and a mat if you’d like one. SUMMARY:The Bishop of Norwich's Certificate in Christian Learning: (Unit 1) Inhabiting the New Testament
DESCRIPTION:The Bishop’s Certificate in Christian Learning is a flexible programme designed for anyone aged 18 and over who wants to explore\, deepen or refresh their Christian faith. It is open to people who are new to Christianity as well as those who have been Christians for many years. Participants can study individual units or complete all five units to gain the full Bishop’s Certificate in Christian Learning. The course combines in-person teaching\, online learning and group discussion\, providing opportunities to engage with scripture\, prayer\, discipleship and mission alongside other learners from across the Diocese of Norwich. SUMMARY:The Building is the Burden: Lightening the Load
DESCRIPTION:Many church leaders in low income areas know that their building is more than bricks and mortar – it is a community space for people to come to\, to find peace\, contact\, practical support and God. Our buildings are a key asset. However\, we also know that many were built quickly and cheaply many decades ago\, and now show serious signs of aging\, wear and tear. Yet many congregations do not have the resources for the increasing levels of maintenance\, and the ongoing upkeep issues increasingly weigh leaders down drawing them away from their primary missional calling. \nThe key asset has now become a burden. \nThis conference aims to give church leaders practical advice and support to tackle such problems. DESCRIPTION:Join a Carbon Literacy course this Creationtide and learn how you and your church community can most effectively tackling the climate emergency \nBecome Carbon Literate and help others in your congregation to become Carbon Literate \nNB: you need to complete some pre-course work (watching a documentary and filling in a carbon footprint tool) and attend all five sessions to complete the course. \nCarbon Literacy for Congregations is an accredited course written for use in small groups in churches. It covers topics including: \n\nWhy Christians should care about climate change\nThe science of climate change\nClimate justice and climate impacts\nCarbon footprints and how your church can cut theirs\nThe co-benefits of tackling climate change\nWhat do we do with climate anxiety and grief?\nHow we can best communicate about climate change with others\, especially within our church communities\n\nThis course accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project (CLP)\, a national charity\, and as part of the course you’ll be invited to make two pledges and submit them to the CLP. If they are happy with them\, you’ll then receive a certificate to confirm you are Carbon Literate. The course is free\, your certificate fee will be covered by the Church of England. The course has been written specifically with church congregations in mind and designed to run in-person\, in small groups within churches. However\, we are running the course online during Creation time\, to allow people to complete it themselves before running it in their own church community. Once you’ve completed the course yourself we would encourage you to run it in your own congregation.

SUMMARY:Chelmsford Eco Church 10th Anniversary - Living waters of hope and healing
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special ecumenical service and event to celebrate 10 years of A Rocha UK’s Eco Church. \n\n\n\n\nWe are delighted to invite you to Chelmsford Cathedral on Wednesday 30 September 2026. The service will begin at 5.15pm\, followed by light refreshments and an opportunity to meet\, chat\, share stories and visit the stalls. The panel discussion will commence at 6.30pm. \nEveryone is welcome! Come for all or part of the evening – it’s free and we’ll provide refreshments\, but please book to help us with numbers for catering. \nThe cathedral will also be hosting the stunning Threads Through Creation exhibition by textile artist Jacqui Parkinson so make sure you have enough time to enjoy this\, either before or after our event. \nThis event is part of a series of regional celebrations across England and Wales to mark 10 years of Eco Church and 25 years of A Rocha UK!
