SUMMARY:LECTIO DIVINA - a way of being with scripture and other sacred texts
DESCRIPTION:We host a monthly group Lectio Divina session in the cathedral library\, on the SECOND FRIDAY of every month at 2.30pm. \nLectio Divina is a contemplative way of reading the Bible\, focusing on a short passage and allowing it to speak to us. The passage is read aloud\, and we may share a word or phrase that resonates with us\, but without discussion. It is a traditional Benedictine approach to the scriptures. \nOpen to all\, readings and full outline of the approach provided. SUMMARY:East Anglian Air Ambulance Christmas Carol Concert
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a festive evening of Christmas carols at Norwich Cathedral on Friday 18 December\, where the singing will be led by the Norwich Cathedral Chamber Choir in support of the East Anglian Air Ambulance  \nFeaturing beautiful performances\, festive readings and opportunities to sing along to seasonal favourites\, the concert will round off a historic year for the charity. In addition to its normal fundraising\, East Anglian Air Ambulance is currently raising money for a new air base in Cambridgeshire\, which will work in parallel with its base at Norwich Airport. \nTickets for the concert are on sale now – with all proceeds from the event helping East Anglian Air Ambulance continue to provide critical care across Norfolk\, Cambridgeshire\, Bedfordshire\, and Suffolk. \nThe Norwich Cathedral Chamber Choir comprises around 50 talented amateur singers who rehearse weekly at Norwich Cathedral\, singing concerts throughout the year and choral services in the absence of the cathedral choir. One of the region’s leading amateur choirs\, they have a varied repertoire that stretches from early music to works by contemporary composers. The chamber choir enjoys frequent collaborations with Norwich Baroque\, the city’s outstanding period instrument ensemble. \nDoors will open at 19:00 with the concert starting at 19:30 and finishing at 20:30 (estimated). \nTickets start from £7 for children and £10 for adults.
