DESCRIPTION:Sometimes our greatest challenge is noticing where God is and has been at work in our lives. \nSt Peter’s is delighted to offer the ‘Being With’ course this year. Established by Revs. Samuel Wells and Sally Hitchiner from St Martin in the Fields\, this course offers a fresh way to explore Christian faith. \nRather than focusing on academic Bible study or unpacking years of doctrine\, the ‘Being With’ course works on the basis that all of us have already had a wealth of experience of God’s presence in our lives. Through topics such as: meaning\, Jesus\, sacrifice\, church and the cross we’ll explore where God moves in our lives and everyday experiences. \nIn this course how you feel is just as important as what you think. It’s about sharing our stories and listening to the stories of others. It doesn’t matter where you are in your journey of faith. From decades of devoted discipleship to those who just have questions\, all are welcome. \nThe course will run at St Peter’s on Tuesday evenings for 10 weeks\, beginning on October 1st at 7:30pm. Everyone is welcome to make a modest\, flashy or exotic wreath for display in the church. The wreaths will be hung on purpose-made supports to show them to best effect. DESCRIPTION:Come and join us for an evening of wonderful music in a beautiful medieval church setting. Sine Nomine is a Norwich based choir comprising 25 to 30 members who sing sacred and secular music\, both accompanied and unaccompanied. The choir was formed in 1978 and its current Director of Music is Hannah Emmrich. \nThe music for the evening will include work by Handel\, Purcell and Grieg. \nRefreshments will be available at 5.30pm and the concert will start at 6pm. DESCRIPTION:We host a monthly group Lectio Divina session in the cathedral library\, on the SECOND FRIDAY of every month at 2.30pm. \nLectio Divina is a contemplative way of reading the Bible\, focusing on a short passage and allowing it to speak to us. The passage is read aloud\, and we may share a word or phrase that resonates with us\, but without discussion. It is a traditional Benedictine approach to the scriptures. \nOpen to all\, readings and full outline of the approach provided. DESCRIPTION:All are welcome to our 3rd Christmas Tree Festival in our lovely church. \nCome and see over 30 decorated trees made from a variety of materials. \nThe trees have been donated by individuals\, families\, local clubs\, groups\, organisations and businesses. \nFREE entry\, refreshments available and a stall for those last minute gifts. \nVote for your favourite tree with your small change – the tree getting most money will win a prize\, as will the best decorated tree.

DESCRIPTION:The countdown to Christmas starts here so do come and join us for our atmospheric Carol Service. Set inside this beautiful medieval church\, there will be traditional and modern readings plus all of your favourite carols. \nSeasonal refreshments will be available after the service. \nA retirement collection for the John Aves Education Project will take place. This project provides financial support to young people from the Dheisheh Palestinian Refugee Camp enabling selected students to study at local universities.

SUMMARY:LECTIO DIVINA - a way of being with scripture and other sacred texts
DESCRIPTION:We host a monthly group Lectio Divina session in the cathedral library\, on the SECOND FRIDAY of every month at 2.30pm. \nLectio Divina is a contemplative way of reading the Bible\, focusing on a short passage and allowing it to speak to us. The passage is read aloud\, and we may share a word or phrase that resonates with us\, but without discussion. It is a traditional Benedictine approach to the scriptures. \nOpen to all\, readings and full outline of the approach provided. Join the conversation as we consider what might enable us to work more collaboratively across our borough for children and families.\nAt the end of the 2025 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity\, Churches Together in King’s Lynn\, the Diocese of Norwich and Imagine Norfolk Together invite local Christians and community leaders to an exciting three-part sharing\, networking and prayer event. This is an opportunity for everyone passionate about seeing children and young people flourish\, to come together to hear about and discuss the current landscape facing young people in our area\, learn about how local churches are currently engaging\, and explore ways to collaborate for greater impact.\nWhy Attend?\nAcross West Norfolk\, there are many local Christians in Churches across the borough\, dedicated to supporting children\, young people and their families in their communities who face daily challenges. However\, these good efforts often occur in isolation\, which can lead to unintentional duplication of resources and burnout. This event aims to begin bridge that gap. By understanding what churches are already doing and identifying key areas for collaboration\, we can maximize our collective impact.\nEvent Outline:\n\n\n4 – 4:45pm- Introductions and Sharing:\nHear responses from local church and community leaders to our recent survey. Learn about current initiatives focused on children and youth\, and the challenges identified by churches and organizations. This sharing will be enriched by sharing key themes emerging from the desk research\, which has compiled data from a number local organisations\, highlighting the pressing issues faced by families in Kings Lynn and West Norfolk.\n\n\n4:45 – 5:15pm – Networking:\nEngage in meaningful conversations with fellow attendees\, including church leaders\, local organizations\, and schools. This networking session is designed to foster connections that can lead to collaborative efforts in addressing community needs.\n\n\n5:20 – 6:00pm – Time of Prayer:\nThose who wish to stay are invited to join Bishop Jane Steen in prayer\, where we will thank God for the good work already being done and seek His guidance for future collaborations.
