SUMMARY:The use of Art and Images in RE
DESCRIPTION:RE is a creative subject! Often RE can seem hard to access and hard for many children to visualise. This half day course will explore how images and artwork can be used to a) introduce a concept in RE b) be a stimulus to generate curiosity in pupils c) be a way to capture learning and assess understanding in RE. The session will look at resources freely available to support the three lenses of RE – Theology\, Philosophy and Social Human Sciences. It will provide ways to use images and artwork to enthuse\, engage and envelop children’s learning in RE. It will also include time to visit the diocese resource centre and will include your first year’s subscription to use this facility. \nAudience: Class Teachers\, RE Leaders\, Support Staff in ALL schools across the county

SUMMARY:Understanding Christianity - CANCELLED
DESCRIPTION:Understanding Christianity was launched in 2016-17. SIAMS reports frequently emphasise the impact of this resource on pupil outcomes\, the quality of teaching and increased teacher confidence and subject knowledge. Also\, each school will get unique access to the online resources that support Understanding Christianity. \nIn addition\, schools who want to ‘refresh’ their expertise can join this course at a reduced fee if they already have the resource. \n Cost: £225 (includes resource pack) / £160 (excludes resource pack) \n**Sandwich lunch included \nAudience: Teachers and RE leaders in ALL schools (Community\, Church of England and Academies)

SUMMARY:Ways of Assessing RE – Substantive Knowledge and Ways of Knowing
