DESCRIPTION:Spend a relaxing day in St Peter and St Paul’s Church at East Harling. Learn to make a textile picture\, using simple techniques and explore your own unique creativity. You will be given complete instruction by Sharon as well as written instructions and ideas sheets. All materials are provided. \nMaking textile pictures is a delight and hopefully you will come away from this workshop\, full of inspiration. \nNo previous experience is necessary other than maybe the most basic sewing skills. \nSharon Blackman is a textile artist from Chelmsford and has been making textile pictures from recycled fabrics for about 25 years. She has a quirky\, folk art style and particularly loves to make pictures inspired by gardens\, cottages\, the seaside and the beautiful\, simple everyday pleasures of life. She sells her original pictures and cards all over the world and has a large online following. She loves to inspire others to make textile pictures and to receive the same joy and peace that this technique has given to her. \nHot and cold drinks will be provided throughout the day. You will need to bring your own packed lunch or take a walk and buy something at our local shops.

SUMMARY:Final project quilt exhibition at Little Massingham Church
DESCRIPTION:This is the last chance to see the magnificent completed patchwork quilted “hugs” at St Andrew’s Church\, Little Massingham on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 July. These quilts have been made by people living throughout the whole of the U.K. After the exhibition they will be handed over to the Norfolk County Council where the young adult care leavers will be able to select a quilt of their choice. \nThis has been a year long project to raise funds for Little Massingham Church roof. FOSALM.org and the charity Quilts for Care Leavers have been working together during this time\, their aim is to hand over the quilts to some of the young adults leaving the Norfolk County Council care system every year. \nMore details\, photos and how to donate at FOSALM.org

DESCRIPTION:Cantilena\, which brings together some of the fine singers of Norwich and Norfolk\, presents ‘Works of Imperishable Beauty’ – a tribute to Charles Villiers Stanford marking the centenary of his death. \nDirected by Gordon Pullin\, works performed will include sacred music\, Irish settings and part songs. \n‘A fantastic event and extremely well thought through’ was one concert-goer’s review of a recent performance by Cantilena. \nThese are always excellent evenings in a beautiful church\, and you’re most welcome to join us. \nAdmission is free with a retiring collection\, and wine and beer will be served afterwards.

DESCRIPTION:Do come along and enjoy a free Art Exhibition in All Saints Church (Church Lane\, Hemblington NR13 4EF) over the weekend of Saturday 8th June (10:00 am – 4:30 pm) and Sunday 9th June (11:00 am – 4:30 pm).  Artists Jan Lacey\, Ian Walker\, Vivienne Rainsbury and Jan Heath will be exhibiting their paintings and glass work – and refreshments will be on sale too.  A great opportunity to enjoy the treasures of this lovely little Medieval church and the wildflowers in the churchyard too.

SUMMARY:Flower festival - A musical bouquet
DESCRIPTION:Make a visit to St Mary’s Church in Attleborough on the weekend of 1 and 2 June and you will be assured of a feast for the senses. \nThere will be a Flower Festival – ‘A Musical Bouquet’ – in the church on both days. Admission is free and there will be a collection to support the Attleborough Music Project (AMP)\, an inspiring venture that aims to create a centre of excellence for music in the region. \nEach of the flower arrangements displayed inside the church\, will be focussed around music – with inspiration from sources as wide as Bob Marley\, Louis Armstrong\, Andrew Lloyd Webber\, Puccini\, The Beatles and Rimsky-Korsakov. \nThe monthly Artisan Market will be the churchyard in the morning on the Saturday. There will also be the opportunity to bring those items whose value you have often wondered about to an Auction Valuation Day from 10am until 3pm inside the church. At 7.30pm there will be a concert by Norwich Baroque\, with soprano Sarahjane Stephen\, entitled ‘Li Fiori: musical flower gardens of the 17th century’. This will include music by Purcell\, Kapsberger\, Schenk\, and others\, with tickets (priced at £15\, under 18s go free) available on the door or online from the church website. \nOn the Sunday\, following the 10am Parish Eucharist\, there will be another opportunity to view the flower arrangements from 12 noon. Cream teas will be served from 1-4pm and this ‘musical bouquet’ of a weekend will be brought to a fitting end with a celebration service at 5pm.

Inspired by the book of Job\, exploring themes around mental health\, sexuality\, faith and relationships. \nJacob Jobe is feeling unwell\, but he has his wayward daughter’s Teddy bear to comfort him and his best friend to steer him doggedly back onto the “right” path. Meanwhile\, romance blossoms\, the last pint of cider is drunk\, and as Jobe sinks ever deeper into despair he seeks a fair trial from God- whilst the Devil searches desperately for a chocolate biscuit… \nOur fantastic cast is looking forward to presenting this ambitious new production of an original play. \nRefreshments will be available.\nNot recommended for children under 15
