Frugal Innovation & the Church - how to do more with less

Thursday 2 May 2019
9.30am - 3pm
Venue: Norwich Cathedral, The Close, Norwich NR1 4DD
This day will introduce the ideas behind Frugal Innovation, show examples of how it has transformed lives, and help us discover what we can do in our own contexts.

Setting the scene

Local churches face significant challenges such as a lack of income, more being asked of small numbers of people, buildings that are difficult to maintain and use as a base for mission. We are being asked to do more with less – as are many others.

Over 3 billion people live outside the formal economy and face significant needs in health, education, energy, food, & finance.  However, there has also been real growth in community groups with limited resources, creating faster, better and cheaper solutions.  This movement is called ‘Frugal Innovation’.

The day will be led by Jaideep Prabhu, Professor of Marketing, Jawaharlal Nehru Professor of Indian Business and Enterprise, and Director of the Centre for India & Global Business at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge.
