The use of Art and Images in RE
Thu 27 Apr at 9.30 am - 3.30 pm
Diocesan House, Norwich, NR9 5ES

With Chris Allen
RE is a creative subject! Often RE can seem hard to access and hard for many children to visualise. This full day course will explore how images and artwork can be used to a) introduce a concept in RE b) be a stimulus to generate curiosity in pupils c) be a way to capture learning and assess understanding in RE. The day will look at resources freely available to support the three lenses of RE – Theology, Philosophy and Social Human Sciences. It will provide ways to use images and artwork to enthuse, engage and envelop children’s learning in RE. You will leave with a wide range of resources and practical ideas to hook children into the big enquiry questions in RE as well as exploring abstract and complex concepts that RE can present in the classroom.
