Take one day… to reflect, to re-set and to restore
Thu 19 Aug at 10.00 am - 3.00 pm
Join the Revd Canon Susanna Gunner for an August mini-retreat in your own home.
As the world begins to take stock and recalibrate after a tumultuous 18 months, you may like to take one day in August to make a mini-retreat at home. Here is an opportunity to take proper time out, time to be still, to settle deeply into God’s presence, time also to reflect on what has been and to look forward with hope.
20 places are available on each of two days.
Susanna (Diocesan Adviser in Spirituality and Discipleship) will lead each day virtually via Zoom. She will top and tail the day with simple worship and will also offer two reflections, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Susanna says: “When Peter and his friends are exhausted after a long unproductive night’s fishing, Jesus gets into their boat (Luke 5.1-11). It’s this episode and, in particular, Jesus’ stirring directive to ‘put out into the deep’, that we will be exploring together. I will post in advance a booklet of resources to all those who sign up for the retreat, along with some simple and practical suggestions for creating a calm and lovely space for it in your home and garden. Ahead of each day, I will also email the Zoom link.”
