Help fundraise for church buildings while enjoying live music.
Our concerts last year were cancelled because of the pandemic. Now, a year on, Music in Country Churches is delighted to be able to return to its work of bringing some of the country’s best musical performers to country parish churches.
We’re delighted to be able to hold concerts this year in St Nicholas, Dersingham to help raise funds for St Mary the Virgin, Flitcham. We will be at St Nicholas on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 July with concerts at 6.30pm on both evenings.
On 28 July string players from the English Chamber Orchestra will play a programme of music that celebrates the summer. They will be joined by clarinettist Laura Deignan to perform Gerald Finzi’s ‘Bagatelles’.
Tickets will be on sale to the Friends of Music in Country Churches from 27 May, and will go on general sale from 27 June. More details about the programmes and performers can be found on the MICC website.
Music in Country Churches was set up as a charitable trust in 1989 with the active support of The Prince of Wales. The Trust has two aims: to arrange weekends of music in rural churches of exceptional beauty and interest, and to raise funds to assist those churches with the costs of their repair and maintenance. It has given concerts in over 55 churches and raised more than £500,000.
