Let’s talk about Friends groups
Tue 3 Aug at 7.00 pm - 8.00 pm
We will discuss why it is a good idea for your church to have a Friends group and will tell you how to set one up.
You may have heard about Friends groups but perhaps have not considered one for your church. There is one major benefit to having a Friends group – the funds that are raised for the maintenance of the fabric and churchyard. Where there is a good active Friends group, the church building is almost always in good order!
In this workshop, we will tell you more about what a Friends group is and how to set one up (including what to pay particular attention to and what to avoid). We will also share some fundraising ideas and inspiring stories from the churches in our Diocese.
The workshop will take place online and will be led by Ana Moskvina (Diocesan Church Building Support Officer), Ken Grapes (Church Building Ambassadors), Ivan Barnard (Church Building Ambassador) and James South (Senior Finance Officer).
