EYFS / KS1 RE through the Philosophy Lens
Tue 23 Nov at 1.30 pm - 4.00 pm
Diocesan House, NR9 5ES
With Chris Allen
This half day session is designed to support early years practitioners and key stage one teachers to tackle RE through the philosophy lens. The Norfolk Agreed Syllabus expects a multi-disciplinary approach to RE, philosophy is one of the three lenses it advocates. In the session, we will explore how to introduce and tackle some of the big philosophy questions in the RE Agreed Syllabus. We will look at ways to run philosophy sessions in RE, we will consider the main thinking and discussion skills that need to be taught, how children might express their views through a philosophy lens in RE and consider some creative approaches to teaching philosophy to our youngest pupils in school.
Audience: Early Years, Key Stage 1 Teachers, RE Leads (church schools, academies and community schools)
