
Art in a Sacred Space

St Giles Church, Norwich, Norwich, NR2 1AB
To coincide with the Norwich Lanes Festival, artists and craft workers who are members of the congregation at St Giles, Norwich will exhibit new work.

A variety of genres, including mezzotints, oils, watercolours, knitted figures, handmade glass, rosaries and architectural photography, will be on display. Some work is available for purchase.
On display also, will be fragments of 14th century glass found recently during work on St Giles south aisle. One of the fragments, in its lead frame, is shown here.
Visitors will have time to light candles and give thanks for the beauty of creation, and talk with the artists about their work. Prior to the exhibition on Sunday 9th a service will take place at 10.30am. Fr Alaric, the parish priest at St Giles, will be preaching.
Attached also is a painting by Fr Peter Varney of the Wisteria flowering during May outside St Giles church.
