Many charities and organisations have resources available for Harvest services below are just some of the resources available for Harvest services.
Harvest is a time to reflect on how fortunate we are to have such a wealth of food readily available to us, a situation which is far from reality for many around the world. Changing climates and droughts mean that families face an ever more bitter battle for survival.
Christian Aid are providing seeds, tools and training to help local communities around the globe to give people the chance not just to survive, but to thrive.
‘Creationtide’ or the ‘Season of Creation’ is the period in the annual church calendar, from 1 September to 4 October, dedicated to God as Creator and Sustainer of all life.
To inspire you and help you explore and celebrate Creationtide here are new liturgies and pulled together examples of services and prayers from across the Church of England.
In addition to the suggested readings and discussion questions for each week of Creationtide, there is also a new daily action sheet focused on food to guide you through the season. You can also hear about the impact of climate change across the Anglican Communion through the Letters for Creation project.
Harvest is making a come-back as a great community event and an opportunity to bless local people.
Harvest suppers are a great way to build new friendships. As we extend hospitality to local people, we can build strong, vibrant communities where strangers can become friends. Build on the friendships made through yoiur church's summer events, inviting local people to celebrate with a meal together.
“Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing so some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.” Hebrews 13:2
The HOPE for Harvest book costs £3 and is full of resources to help your church reconnect with the importance of harvest and to focus on the importance of work, generosity and thankfulness.

By supporting WaterAid this harvest, churches in your diocese can help bring life-changing clean water to farmers struggling to grow enough food. When clean water arrives in a community, it brings a ripple of incredible changes. Families have enough water to drink, enough water to grow their crops and enough water to look after their animals.
Church Urban Fund have created some free Harvest resources, including sermon outlines, reflections, posters, children’s resources, videos and much more. Register to receive a link to gain direct access to the resources.
The resources, based on Matthew 9:38 – Calling workers to the harvest, is a celebration of the more than 13,000 people around the country, who have taken up this call, and who volunteer their time at Church Urban Fund-supported social action projects. We liken these incredible men and women to a seed that though little in itself, can benefit a whole community.
