Committed to Growth

The Diocese of Norwich is Committed to Growth in discipleship, service and numbers.

The Bishop of Norwich writes: I invite everyone to share in our Diocesan commitment to growth. In practice this means:

  • our growth as disciples of Jesus Christ
  • our growth in service to God and our neighbours
  • our growth in the number of people worshipping God and learning to be Christ's disciples

This is the mission to which we believe God is calling our Diocese.

Committed to Growth Prayers

The Bishop of Norwich has written the following prayer for use throughout the Diocese of Norwich as we commit ourselves to growth:

    Eternal God,
    in your Son Jesus Christ
you reveal your love for the world,
and by the grace of the Holy Spirit
you give us the strength to share
    his mission in this Diocese:
help us to grow in proclaiming your good news,
    drawing others to know you,
    serving our communities,
    promoting justice and peace
    and sustaining the well-being
    of the life of the earth;
through the same Jesus Christ our Lord

Children's Prayer

Emma Rogers (Aged 7) from St Nicholas', North Lopham, Norfolk has also written the following prayer:

    Dear God,
thank you for everything that grows.
Please help our Church to grow well by
getting more boys and girls learning about
Jesus and joining the Church Communion.
