New Ecclesiastical Fundraising Hub Launched

While everyday life is disrupted with churches not running as usual, fundraising is becoming ever more important.

Ecclesiastical has created a new website  to offer practical support and guidance to help you manage your fundraising during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.

Initially the resources will focus on keeping your fundraising going during COVID-19 and guidance on applying for grants.

Information includes:

  • Top tips for fundraising by churches
  • List of emergency COVID-19 funders
  • A guide to researching possible donors and funders
  • Checklist for grant application
  • PLUS other guides to strengthen grants applications

There are a wide variety of external funding sources that can be used to support the church’s work and ministry.

Although some of these are specifically set up to support and further Christian mission, many are from secular sources who share our objectives with respect to looking after important heritage assets and improving and enriching peoples lives. Whatever grant making bodies that you are applying to ensure that you are addressing the grant making bodies application criteria.

Many funding sources are oversubscribed and success will often depend on the quality of the application you submit.  Although Diocesan staff cannot write applications on your behalf, the Parish Funding Support Officers, Robert and Michele, are able to advise on which sources of funding may be best suited to your project.

Contact Robert or Michele if you would like support with grants and funding:

Robert Culyer, Parish Funding Support Officer
01603 882326,

Michele O’Keefe, Parish Funding Support Officer
01603 882325,

The Diocese have a group of volunteers who have been successful in applying for grants who can assist you with your applications or review your application before submission.  Speak to the Parish Funding Support Officers to find out more.
