Café at The Well – an invitation to encounter Christ
A church plant in Ingoldisthorpe, West Norfolk is serving up a warm welcome with barista-produced coffee in a café-setting in the local church hall.
“It’s our hope that this more accessible, familiar context will also enable local people to encounter the love of Christ and the hospitality of the Church,” explains the Revd Dave Cossey. “Café doors are often easier for folk to walk through than a church door.” It’s already being recognised as a welcoming place with “warm space” grants being offered by the parish council as part of the nationwide scheme.
The Café at The Well runs three mornings a week and some of the regulars are now attending the Sunday afternoon gathering which offers a space for open discussion to those curious about the Christian faith. “It’s a space for learning from one another and building up trusting relationships that create a willingness to be vulnerable in our exploration of faith.”
