“I have always felt drawn to the Church of England,” says Charlotte Bayes. “I grew up attending a rural church and although it was small, with no toilet or running water, it had a mighty vision.

“I felt called to mission but working part-time as a teacher and finding it difficult taking my toddler to traditional morning services, I wasn’t sure how I could serve.

“Then I discovered ‘Garden Church’ and shared this vision for a mixed ecology church. I had a very supportive Vicar who allowed me to develop a Garden Church in our parish. With this and the support of Garden’s Lead Pastor, Revd Dave Lloyd, I was able to learn how to nurture and develop a lay-led discipleship community. At Great Melton Garden, we meet wherever we can come together to eat, pray, worship, learn, and listen. I’m excited for what God is doing through the Garden Network.”
