Rooted in faith
In churches and schools across the diocese a number of young people are confirmed each year. As they take this step, we want to encourage them to deepen their faith and develop helpful spiritual practices.
The Diocese of Norwich Children, Youth and Families Team and Norwich Cathedral Education team have been working together to plan a discipleship day that seeks to help young people continue their faith journey. Based on work by George Lings from the Church Army we focus on areas of a monastery and use the idea of seven sacred spaces to explore aspects of discipleship, such as using the idea of chapel to encourage attendance at church services, the cell to reflect on having times of personal prayer, or the hostry to reflect on hospitality and being part of a Christian community. Through discussion and providing resources we pray that young people will find joy in a life of discipleship. www.DofN.org/cyf
