Inter-faith Week creation care
This time last year, a group of people from different faith groups met together at Bishop Graham’s invitation, prompted by a request from a local Muslim cleric, to discuss what their teachings said about creation care. Gradually, an ongoing plan for working together is being formed.
“We are discovering the strength of our collective voice in addressing the issues that confront us about the environment. We wish to explore, share and publicise beliefs and values which all human beings have in common about our response to and responsibility for living successfully and sustainably in one world. We are concerned that faith communities are perceived positively in the wider community and included in their policies, plans, and campaigns.”
There is increasing awareness in the environmental movement that a spiritual transformation as well as practical change is needed, and it is hoped that this group can begin to help that to happen in Norfolk and Waveney.
