Hope Into Action
“I was just a loser all the time, didn’t know what I was doing, always angry” exclaims Sophie, but then she was offered tenancy in a Hope Into Action home associated with St Catherine’s Church, Norwich: she is now on her feet, secure.
This charity enables churches to house the homeless, aiming to have one home, per church, per community. Sophie has the help of Empowerment Officer, Rach Hartley, and the support of church member, Ruth (pictured with Sophie), and has learned how to structure her life, deal with stuff; she’s now doing alright. Both Rach and Ruth offer tough love, saying it straight, so Sophie feels confident in their care. In fact she is doing so well she will be moving out of the tenancy after just one year, instead of the normal two years. Now integrated into the church family, Sophie is most definitely not on her own anymore.
