Does God love science?
Posted on Thursday 4 October 2012
Pupils in secondary schools in Kings Lynn and Harleston will be asking this question when they are visited by Test of FAITH:Live next week (8th-11th Oct)
Developed by Manchester based musician Chip Kendall (formerly of Bandwithnoname) and Cambridge based scientist Dr Ruth Bancewicz, Test of FAITH:Live! aims to help young people look at the relationship between faith and science.
“Often people assume that faith and science are at war with each other”, says Dr Ruth, “but actually nearly all the early scientists were Christians and for me, science is about learning about the amazing creation God has made for us.”
Chip Kendall and his DJ Galactus Jack will bring music and dance to the sessions as well as getting involved in the experiments and discussions. “Many teenagers say to me, “Science has disproved God”, so it’s great to be able to bring in working scientists who also have a faith and get everyone discussing those issues” says Kendall.
Mark Heybourne from the Diocese of Norwich says ‘The fact that there is the beauty of science for us to discover and help us make sense of the life is an argument for God and it is important young people hear this debate to help them make up their own minds. I look forward to seeing how Norfolk young people respond to the discussions"
