New DAC Chair Appointed
The Bishop said, "I'm delighted that Alan Kefford has agreed to be Chair of the Diocesan Advisory Committee for the Care of Churches (DAC). He has both the professional skills required in this demanding voluntary post as well as recent experience at the Cathedral dealing with the complexities working with historic buildings and making them suitable for mission in the present day. We have been well served in recent years by Chris Brown who has completed eight years as DAC Chair and it is good that the succession is in such good hands."
Alan Kefford was until recently Chapter Steward at Norwich Cathedral. He is a lawyer by profession and the former Senior Partner of Howes Percival and the Managing Partner of its Norwich Office. He is the Chairman of Anglian Archives Limited, the Deputy Chairman of the NW Brown Group Limited, a Governor at the Hewett School and the Chairman of Central Norwich Schools Foundation Trust. He is also a Trustee of the Cathedral Choir Endowment Fund.
Chris Brown's term of office comes to an end in December, and Alan Kefford will take up the reins at the March meeting of the DAC. The Vice-Chair, Hugh Richmond, will look after the DAC during the short interregnum.
