King’s Lynn Minster service to honour loss of a baby
The Bishop writes:
Pilgrimage to the Holy Land led by The Bishop of Norwich and designed to visit pilgrimage places but also engage with the Christian communities, including our own Anglican Church.
Monday 29 January – Monday 5 February 2018
This programme follows a pattern established in 2015 when I last led a group of curates to the Holy Land. It is designed so that we visit many of the sacred sites but see them in the context of the present day reality of life in Israel and the Palestinian Territories.
Visits to such bodies as the Holy Land Trust and Bethlehem University are not on usual pilgrimage itineraries but will give a significant insight into life in the Holy Land today.
As you know, the number of Christians in the Holy Land has fallen considerably in recent decades. They long for their fellow Christians elsewhere in the world to come not just to the pilgrimage sites but to visit the “living stones” of the Church there now. This visit is designed to do that and I am sure you will receive a great deal which will inform and strengthen your ministry.
We have secured a very reasonable price for an intensive tour, which includes all flights, transport, charges, hotel bills and most meals at £1,350. Further details are below.
This pilgrimage is open anyone in the Diocese. There will be a number of curates for whom bursaries have been obtained and for whom it is part of their ongoing formation. But it will be good for there to be a much wider participation and last time the wide mix of people in the group added to everyone's enrichment. Do consider joining us. We need to book quickly to secure low air fares so I am asking for all who are interested to express an interest by Sunday 5 March 2017.
Please let Coralie Nichols, my PA, know as soon as possible if you wish to express an interest.
